Manychat or bundle.social: the short version

Manychat works well for one brand. If you need comment-to-DM, Instagram auto replies, or Messenger flows inside your own product, or on many client accounts at once, compare it with bundle.social.

Manychat

Manychat is a no-code tool for creators and brands. You build flows in a visual editor and run them on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, SMS, email, and Telegram. It also has AI replies, a live chat inbox, and contact tags.

bundle.social

With bundle.social, the automation lives in your product. Your customers connect their Instagram and Facebook accounts, and your code creates, tests, and turns on the flows through the API, next to the posts it schedules.

  • Your customers connect their own Instagram and Facebook accounts inside your product.
  • You can create, test, and publish flows through a REST API, or build them in the dashboard.
  • One organization holds unlimited connected accounts, so you don't need a separate Manychat account for every brand.
  • You get a webhook for every new message and a log of every automation run.
  • The same API publishes and schedules posts on 15 platforms, so you can create a campaign post and its comment-to-DM flow in one go.

Manychat vs a DM automation API

Manychat's API works on one account at a time

Manychat has a public API on Pro and higher plans, still labeled beta. Each token belongs to one Manychat account. You can send messages, start flows that already exist, and read or update contacts, tags, and custom fields. The flows themselves have to be built in the Manychat editor. If you want to give hundreds of customers their own automations, each customer needs a Manychat account and its own token.

Create flows from your code

In bundle.social, your code creates a flow with POST /api/v1/automations. The flow starts as a draft, you test it, then you publish a version. The dashboard builder edits the same flows and shows each one's API definition. Your team can design a flow by hand, and your product can then create a copy for every customer account.

Meta Automation API

What a flow can do

A flow starts when someone comments, sends a DM, or taps a quick reply or button. It can check for keywords, send a private reply to a comment, reply in public, send a DM with buttons, quick replies, or attachments, wait before the next step, and archive or reopen the conversation. On TikTok, flows can reply to comments in public and like them. Every run is logged with the result of each step.

Comment to DM API

You pay per organization, not per contact

Manychat bills each account by active contacts, so an agency with 20 client profiles pays for 20 accounts. bundle.social Pro is $90/month on annual billing ($100 monthly) for the whole organization. That covers unlimited connected accounts, each with 200 sent DMs a month. Twenty client profiles that each send up to 200 automated DMs a month fit in one Pro plan.

One big profile is cheaper on Manychat

bundle.social limits sent DMs per connected account: 200 a month on Pro and 1,000 on Business. If a creator's giveaway gets 2,500 people commenting a keyword, one profile needs more than that, and Manychat Pro costs much less. For one or two large accounts, Manychat is the cheaper choice.

Is bundle.social the right fit?

bundle.social makes sense when DM automation is a feature you offer your users, not a tool your marketing team logs into.

Best fit

  • SaaS products that give their users comment-to-DM or auto replies
  • agencies running the same Instagram and Facebook flows on many client accounts
  • teams that want publishing, comments, DMs, and automations in one API

Not best fit

  • a single creator or brand that wants a no-code builder, AI replies, and WhatsApp
  • funnels built on broadcasts, drip sequences, ready-made templates, or Shopify integrations

Where Manychat is the stronger choice

Every comparison has cases that go the other way. These are the ones worth knowing before you move anything.

  • Seven channels in one tool. WhatsApp, SMS, email, and Telegram are not available on bundle.social.
  • A mature visual editor, Manychat AI, contact tags and custom fields, and a live chat inbox where a person can take over a single conversation.
  • Cheap for one brand: a profile with a few thousand active contacts costs less on Manychat than on any bundle.social plan that includes DMs.

Manychat pricing in 2026: contacts and accounts add up

Manychat bills by active contacts: people who exchanged a message with the account in the billing month. Free covers 25 contacts and 4 active automations, and Essential ($14/mo annual, $17 monthly) covers 250. Each plan covers one Manychat account. Every contact over the limit costs extra, for example $0.05 on Pro with monthly billing.

What to test before you commit

Take one real campaign and rebuild it. Connect the account the way your customers will, publish the post through bundle.social, create a comment flow for it through the API, and comment the keyword from a test profile. Then check the private reply, the follow-up DM, the message webhook, and the run log. If all of that works, the API can handle what your Manychat setup does today.

Moving off Manychat

Start with a list of every live Manychat automation, grouped by what triggers it: comment keywords, DM keywords, buttons and quick replies, story replies, and anything on WhatsApp, SMS, or email. Comment, DM, and button flows can be rebuilt in bundle.social. Tags, custom fields, and sequences have to live in your own database. Anything on a channel we don't support stays on Manychat or moves to another tool. Switch one account at a time, and turn off the Manychat trigger before you publish the new flow, so nobody gets two replies.

Keep the workflow inside your product

On Manychat, a marketer logs in and builds funnels for one brand. With bundle.social, your product gives its own users comment-to-DM, auto replies, an inbox, and publishing. It all runs under your brand, on accounts your users connect themselves.

bundle.social is the better Manychat alternative if

  • Your customers should set up comment-to-DM or auto replies without leaving your product
  • You run the same flows on more client accounts than one Manychat account can hold
  • You want to create and publish flows from code, not only in a visual editor
  • Instagram and Facebook Messenger are the channels you need
  • You also publish the posts those flows reply to

Questions buyers ask

Does Manychat have an API?

Yes, on Pro and higher plans, though it is still labeled beta and some comparison pages say it has none. It works on one Manychat account at a time. You can send messages, start existing flows, and manage contacts, tags, and custom fields. Flows are built in the Manychat editor, not through the API.

Why does per-contact pricing matter?

On Manychat, the bill grows with your audience. Everyone who interacts with the account in a month counts as an active contact, so a viral post or a giveaway can push you over the limit. On bundle.social, the price is per organization and stays the same however big the audience gets. Each connected account gets a fixed number of sent DMs and automation runs per month.

Is bundle.social a free Manychat alternative?

No. bundle.social has a free plan for publishing, but DMs and automations start on the paid Pro plan. If you need free comment-to-DM for one Instagram account, Manychat's free plan covers 25 contacts and 4 active automations a month.

Can bundle.social do comment-to-DM like Manychat?

Yes, on Instagram and Facebook. When a comment on a post contains your keyword, the commenter gets a private reply, and you can also post a public reply under their comment. The post has to be published through bundle.social, and each post needs its own flow.

Does bundle.social support WhatsApp, SMS, or email like Manychat?

No. DMs work on Instagram and Facebook Messenger. On TikTok, automations can reply to comments in public and like them, but they can't send DMs.

Can I build flows without code?

Yes. The dashboard has a flow builder and an inbox where you can read and answer messages. The builder edits the same flows as the API, so you can build a flow by hand first and create it from code later.

Do Meta's messaging rules still apply?

Yes, just as they do on Manychat. Meta allows one text-only private reply per comment, and further messages only within 24 hours of the person's last message. bundle.social also sends one person at most one automated reply per minute and six per hour. Quick-reply taps don't count toward that limit.

Which plans include DMs and automations?

bundle.social Pro includes 200 sent DMs and 200 automation runs per connected account each month. Business raises them to 1,000 sent DMs and 1,000 automation runs, and Enterprise limits are agreed per customer. Incoming messages don't count against the sent-DM allowance. DMs and automations are not available on the Free plan. DMs and automations are turned on per organization on request: email [email protected] with your organization ID.

How long are messages and automation logs kept?

bundle.social keeps messages and automation execution logs for 30 days. If your product needs a longer history, store the message events in your own database. The data retention documentation explains how old conversations are cleaned up.
